I have to say it is one of the highlights of my guiding season.

You may be wondering what the Smallmouth Trip from Hell is. It’s a four day guided trip, fishing four of the finest warm water fisheries in the country. We will tackle a different river each day of the journey. The rivers include the Mississippi, St. Croix, Flambeau/Chippewa and the Wisconsin.   Each river has its own personality and quirks. This is what makes the trip so much fun.

We will start this great adventure on the Mighty Mississippi River.  After we are done fishing the first day we load up our gear and boats and travel to the next destination. We will spend the night near the next day’s river. We keep this pace until we reach the last river on the fourth day. The itinerary for leg one of the trip, starting on the Mississippi River, is below. This will give you an idea of the logistics of the tour.

Day one: Fish the Upper Mississippi. When we are done, we travel to Grantsburg, WI.  Day two: Fish the National Wild and Scenic St. Croix River. Travel to Winter, WI.  Day three: Fish the Flambeau/Chippewa River. Travel to Merril, WI.  Day four: Fish the Wisconsin River.
